AT A GLANCE...
British Airways Euroflyer, also known as BA Euroflyer, is a subsidiary of British Airways founded in 2021. Based at London Gatwick, it operates a wide range of short-haul flights across Europe. With BA Euroflyer, passengers can enjoy budget flights with the same reputable quality they expect from British Airways. As a new airline, BA Euroflyer needed to conduct a large-scale recruitment campaign starting in late 2021 for their 2022 operations. For this, the airline turned to AeroProfessional for expert recruitment assistance.
THE SITUATION...
With the summer season rapidly approaching, BA Euroflyer aimed to ramp up their cabin crew recruitment activities for the summer of 2022 to accommodate their planned schedule. Their goal was to hire 175 cabin crew members by the summer. Recognising the complexity and time-consuming nature of volume recruitment, the airline sought an aviation specialist recruitment consultancy to assist in the search and selection of the right candidates, and expedite the hiring process.
AeroProfessional is an expert in aviation recruitment. Since its founding in 2006, AeroProfessional has established a proven track record of successful placements industry wide. It has lent its extensive industry knowledge and expertise to countless well known airlines which sought to improve their service quality by hiring the best candidates in the aviation marketplace.
AeroProfessional and BA Euroflyer collaborated to devise a tailored recruitment and marketing strategy to meet their hiring objectives. This strategy included careful planning of promotional materials and marketing campaigns to target certain candidate demographics.
THE SOLUTION...
Using its extensive experience in high-volume recruitment, AeroProfessional devised a comprehensive plan. This plan included targeted advertising, comprehensive candidate search and selection, skill matching, telephone screening and aviation background checks, as well as organising and hosting virtual assessments for cabin crew candidates.
Following the completion of several screening stages, AeroProfessional was tasked with shortlisting suitable candidates based on BA Euroflyer’s criteria, and organising virtual assessments for the selected candidates to attend. The virtual assessments were launched in December 2021 with 25 attendees per day, and continued throughout 2022. With this approach, BA Euroflyer benefited from maximum flexibility and efficiency of their recruitment in a cost-effective manner while maintaining high quality levels.
As a trusted partner of BA Euroflyer during the recruitment journey, AeroProfessional was granted access into the airline’s internal recruitment software to seamlessly manage the process while maintaining the high standards expected of BA’s candidate experience. This approach provided BA Euroflyer with complete transparency of all stages of the recruitment process. In addition, AeroProfessional continued to offer marketing analytics and reporting to the airline to ensure that it was always ahead of industry trends. This enabled it to proactively adjust its hiring requirements when needed.
THE RESULTS...
AeroProfessional played a pivotal role in helping BA Euroflyer achieve its hiring objectives on time for the summer season of 2022. By leveraging their extensive experience in high-volume recruitment, BA enjoyed a streamlined recruitment, assessment, and onboarding process, and reduced costs. As a result, BA Euroflyer was able to efficiently meet its staffing requirements and proceed with its summer schedule seamlessly.
To address the challenges of recruitment and internal attrition levels at BA, AeroProfessional conducted detailed benchmarking to understand the role attractiveness. This analysis led to the introduction of new terms and conditions, which improved application rates by making the cabin crew role more appealing to potential candidates.

AeroProfessional’s partnership with BA Euroflyer extended beyond initial recruitment efforts, continuing to support their ongoing needs into early 2024. By becoming an integral part of the recruitment team and participating in monthly project management meetings, AeroProfessional adapted to BA’s evolving needs, assisted in implementing new assessment materials, and optimised its onboarding process. This close collaboration ensured BA Euroflyer's recruitment process remained efficient and effective, contributing to the airline's operational success and long-term growth.
